Weight and metabolic health

The medical conversation about weight — without the shouting.

What's going on

Weight is a medical issue with metabolic, hormonal and behavioural drivers — and it deserves the same calm, evidence-led approach as anything else we treat. Dr Chaffee has an international profile in metabolic and preventative medicine.

This is a doctor-led programme: assessment, investigation where indicated, and a plan built on the drivers underneath — metabolism, muscle, sleep, nutrition. Details are discussed in consultation.

This service opens after final clinical sign-off. Enquiries are welcome now via the practice.

Why it happens

  • Metabolic and hormonal drivers
  • Sleep, stress and nutrition
  • Muscle mass and its decline with age
  • Medication and health factors

What can realistically be done

Medical assessment

History, examination and investigation where indicated.

A plan built on drivers

Metabolism, muscle, sleep and nutrition — the things that actually move the needle.

What can't

No product names, no promised numbers, no before-and-after photographs — this page deliberately says less than others, and that is by design. The conversation happens in the consulting room.

What a first visit involves

Thirty to forty-five minutes with a doctor or nurse: your history, an assessment, and an honest plan with costs in writing. No treatment at a first visit. What to expect
