Volume loss and flattening
Cheeks and mid-face that have quietly deflated.
What's going on
Faces lose volume with age — fat pads shrink and shift, bone remodels, and the mid-face flattens. The change is gradual enough that people often notice it in photographs before mirrors.
It tends to read as tiredness rather than age: a face that looks drawn even after good sleep. Restoring support in the right places returns the light to the face without changing its character.
Why it happens
- Age-related fat pad and bone change
- Significant weight change
- Sun damage to skin quality overlying
- Genetics — facial structure varies widely
What can realistically be done
Dermal filler
Used for structure and balance — restoring support at the cheek and mid-face rather than inflating.
Bio-remodelling and skin boosters
Improve the quality of the skin overlying the structure.
Staged planning
For broader change, Dr Truong plans across visits so the face shifts gradually, never suddenly.
What can't
Volume work done badly is the most visible work in aesthetics. We build slowly and conservatively — and if your face does not need it, we will say so.
Who to see
What a first visit involves
Thirty to forty-five minutes with a doctor or nurse: your history, an assessment, and an honest plan with costs in writing. No treatment at a first visit. What to expect
