Acne scarring

The marks acne leaves after it has gone.

What's going on

Acne scars come in types — rolling, boxcar, icepick — and they respond to different treatments at different depths. This is why a single-technology clinic so often disappoints: the scar type dictates the tool.

Improvement is real but graded. Most patients see meaningful softening over a course of treatment; complete erasure is not an honest promise for established scarring.

Why it happens

  • Past inflammatory acne
  • Picking or squeezing — no judgement, but it matters
  • Delayed treatment of the original acne
  • Skin type — some scar more readily

What can realistically be done

Medical needling

First-line for most scarring — remodels the collagen architecture over a course.

Regenerative treatment

Doctor-delivered, often combined with needling for compounding effect.

Laser resurfacing

For texture and pigment within scars, timed to winter.

What can't

Deep icepick scars improve but rarely disappear. We will show you what improvement realistically looks like for your scars before you commit to a course.

What a first visit involves

Thirty to forty-five minutes with a doctor or nurse: your history, an assessment, and an honest plan with costs in writing. No treatment at a first visit. What to expect
