What can't
Melasma is controlled, never cured — and heat and sun can bring it back, so management is ongoing. And any changing, bleeding or irregular spot is checked medically first, always.
What's going on
Western Australian light is beautiful and unforgiving. Pigmentation — sun spots, melasma, uneven tone — accumulates quietly over years and tends to surface in the forties and fifties.
Here is the part most clinics skip: not every brown spot should be lasered. Some need a diagnosis first, and a very few need a biopsy. Dr Shahid examines before treating, which is why pigment work here is safe as well as effective.
